The BNB releases into circulation a golden
commemorative coin ‘100 Years of the Faculty of Theology’
On 25 September 2023 the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) will issue a golden commemorative coin entitled ‘100 Years of the Faculty of Theology’.
Upon release the price of the coin will be BGN 1470 (one thousand four hundred and seventy).
The coin will be sold at two counters in the Bulgarian National Bank, Sofia, 1, Knyaz Alexander I Sq., and at four counters in the BNB Cash Centre, Sofia, 10, Mihail Tenev St.
A client may purchase only 1 coin at the Bulgarian National Bank counters, no matter whether for themselves or for someone else. When buying a coin on behalf and for the account of someone else, the client must present a notarised power of attorney issued exclusively for the purchase of this commemorative coin. If a client, as a natural person, has bought a coin at the BNB counters, that client may not buy another coin as a representative of a legal entity, and this restriction applies to the opposite case as well. Commemorative coins cannot be purchased by persons who are under 18 years old.
By the end of the business day on 25 September 2023, the BNB will provide quantities of the new coin to First Investment Bank AD, Texim Bank AD, and Central Cooperative Bank AD, for sale in their offices and branches.
The above banks will be selling the coin in the offices and branches on the following list.

The reverse of the coin features: the building of the Faculty of Theology of the Sofia University ‘St. Kliment Ochridski’ and the year ‘1923’ underneath. In circumference are the inscriptions: ‘FACULTY OF THEOLOGY’ on the top and ‘100 YEARS’ on the strip below. |
