Republic of Bulgaria’s Association with the European Community • Desislava

The obverse features a portrait of Desislava, the wife of Sebastokrator Kaloyan during the Second Bulgarian Empire, and ktitoritsa (donor) of the Boyana Church, with the Church itself in the background. To the right, on two lines, are the nominal value number ‘10 000’ and the word ‘ЛЕВА’ (levs).

The reverse of the coin depicts three interlaced letters ‘ECU’, with the year of issue ‘1993’ inside the letter ‘C’, all encircled by twelve five-pointed stars. In the outer ring, there are in circumference: ‘РЕПУБЛИКА БЪЛГАРИЯ’ (Republic of Bulgaria) (above), and ‘REPUBLIC OF BULGARIA’ (below).
